Wave Swell Founded
Following a lightbulb moment, Wave Swell Energy is founded to develop the idea.
October 2019
Construction begins
After 3 years of intensive R&D, construction begins on the Uniwave200 test platform.
November 2019
Precast elements
Locally manufactured precast elements are delivered to the construction location.
December 2019
OWC formed
The structure of the OWC is formed from reinforced and conventional formwork systems.
February 2020
Pontoon delivery
The pontoons are fabricated then transported under escort to the construction site for installation.
April 2020
Superstructure installed
Superstructure completed using precast concrete elements, and turbine installed.
October 2020
Maiden voyage
Substructure completes the 9 hour tow to Bell Bay for final fitout and superstructure installation.
November 2020
Maiden voyage
The superstructure is lifted onto the substructure and the unit takes its final form for the first time.
January 2021
Deployment
The 39 hour transit ti King Island was executed with perfection and the unit is guided into it’s final resting position.
